The innovative Miami Youth Garden, Inc. (MyG) is a nonprofit organization featuring a live, community garden classroom and a proven youth leadership development program called Seed to Harvest (STH™). Church of the Open Door’s Youth Ministry created the garden, including an action plan and budget. MyG is now a collaborative effort including The Collective Empowerment Group of South Florida (funded the garden through Wells Fargo and CitiBank community beautification grants), neighborhood volunteers and a grant from Joel Osteen Ministries. We currently need funding for an irrigation system, wrought-iron fence, additional tools and equipment to expand the program and support teachers to impart the Seed to Harvest curriculum.
